BLSA Elections and Upcoming Events

BLSA Elections Are Now Over!

Thank-You to all of the BLSA members who participated in the election for next year’s BLSA Board! The results will be announced next Monday, March 30th.

Cooley Godward Kronish LLP

The Diversity Committee of Cooley Godward Kronish would like to invite the 1L students of BLSA at Santa Clara School of Law to a reception entitled "Planning Ahead: Tips on Surviving On-Campus Interviews and A Preview of Law Firm Life" on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. Students interested in attending this event should RSVP by March 27th.

NBPA Job Fair

Last, but not least, the National Black Prosecutor’s Association will be holding their annual job fair on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 in Memphis, Tennessee. If you are interested in this event, please read the two documents attached to this email.

Elections for the 2009/2010 BLSA Board!!

Elections for next year’s BLSA board are quickly approaching. A detailed list of information and duties for each of the 10 board positions are attached to this email. If you would like to nominate yourself or another individual for a position, please send an email to blsasculaw@gmail.com by Monday, March 16th at 3:00 p.m. If you are interested in more than one position, please indicate so in your email.

Upcoming Happy Hour Mixer!

BLSA is co-sponsoring a Happy Hour Mixer with La Raza that is scheduled for Monday, March 23rd at Tied House. More details to follow!

Save the Date: BLSA Graduation, May 22nd

Come say goodbye to your fellow 3L classmates as they embark into life after law school! BLSA’s Graduation Celebration will be held from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on May 22nd at Fiorillos Restaurant. More details to follow as the date approaches.

Every year, BLSA makes an effort to reach out to the minority applicants, who have been accepted to SCU, and to make the feel at home, and welcome at our school.
